Transport and Road ClosuresHERE is a summary of road closures, public transport services and other opening hours for the Christmas-new year period in Brisbane. Road closures: Tribune St from 11.30pm and 1am: - Between Grey St and Little Stanley St inbound - Full closure between Colchester St and Grey St Stanley St / Vulture St / Dock St - right hand turn lane from Stanley St into Dock St Inbound Vulture St / Grey St - right hand turn lane from Vulture St into Grey St Outbound Vulture St / Grey St - left hand turn lane from Vulture St into Grey St Between 7.30pm and 1am: Grey St/Melbourne St - left hand turn lane from Grey St into Melbourne St Grey St/Melbourne St - right hand turn lane from Grey St into Melbourne St Grey St/ Melbourne St - through lane from Southern side of Melbourne St Between 8pm, December 31, and 9pm, December 31, and again between 11.30pm, December31, to 12.30am, January 1, 2009: Inbound Captain Cook Bridge - kerbside lane of Captain Cook Bridge from Stanley St on-ramp to Margaret St off-ramp Outbound Captain Cook Bridge - kerbside lane of Captain Cook Bridge from Alice St on-ramp to Stanley St off-ramp From 7pm until 2am: Victoria Bridge between Melbourne St and North Quay (general traffic lanes only, busway to remain open) Victoria Bridge between Melbourne St and North Quay (western pedestrian footway only) North Quay between Ann St and Adelaide St (general traffic lanes only, riverside lanes open to buses, general traffic diverted right onto Riverside Expressway) North Quay between Adelaide St and Queen St (buses excepted) Adelaide St between George St and North Quay (buses excepted, general traffic diverted right into George St) William St between Elizabeth St and Queen St (all traffic) Queens Wharf Rd and William St intersection. Bus services TransLink is operating additional late night transport services on New Year's Eve. NightLink bus services will depart every 30 minutes between 1am and 5.30am. CityCat and CityFerry services CityCats will run on the weekend timetable on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. CityCat and CityFerry services will be extended to 2am after New Year's Eve celebrations. The terminal at QUT Gardens point will be closed from 6.30pm on December 31, reopening 6am New Year's Day. Waste collection Bin collections will continue throughout the Christmas period as per normal schedules. On Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day bin collections will commence a little earlier so drivers can get home earlier to spend time with their families, so make sure your bins are out the night before. Council Waste Transfer Stations remain open every day of the year. Libraries All 32 Council libraries will be closed on the Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day public holidays, with some operating under different hours through the Christmas/New Year period. Check with your local library for their operating hours. Pools All Council pools are closed on Christmas Day, but will be open every other day over summer. Museum of Brisbane Open every day from 10am-5pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. City Venues The Planetarium will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Acacia Ridge Leisure Centre will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Victoria Park Golf Complex and St Lucia Golf Links will be closed on Christmas Day. Hibiscus Sports Complex will be closed on Christmas Day, and the pool will be open on Boxing Day from noon-6pm. On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day the pool will be open from noon-6pm.
