The skies of Hobart will come alive with light and colour during a family fireworks display in Sullivans Cove at 9.30pm and a grand fireworks display on the waterfront at midnight, promising something special to bring in 2011.

The Hobart City Council has the taste festival over the NYE period. There are family friendly events and fine produce on display and available for an entry cost. But you don’t need to pay for a great view of the Sullivans Cove fireworks, which explode in iridescent, futuristic colour over Hobart’s elegant sandstone buildings.
So it can be a matter of cheering in the new year with crews from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race on Hobart’s historic waterfront. People from all around the world join the party at Sullivans Cove, which features band, roving entertainers and two sets of fireworks.
